[Trend] 50 Shades of "Groutfits"

50 Shades of Grey may be the talk of Valentine's weekend……but my weekend consisted of shades of "groutfits." My friends tease the fact that I wear mainly black, white, and any shade of grey in between. So not to anyone's surprise, I brought in 4 prime grey pieces from Urban Outfitters on Valentine's Day.
Shades of….Silence Noise parka coat
This coat can take you from work, to shopping in Soho, to college class, to happy hour drinks. Whatever the occasion, I can see this coat being verrrrry useful in my future.
BDG activewear pants
MUST TOUCH TO UNDERSTAND. These pants are the softest things to ever exist on my body and I haven't taken them off yet. Enough said.

Silence + Noise Aria Strappy Bra - Urban Outfitters
I must admit...I purchased this bra under the impression that it would be used as a sports bra, but after looking up the information online, I realized I was way off. But that just shows you how supportive it is right?? Don't judge me if I still at least try it out as a sports bra…..

BDG gray t shirt dress
This dress should be a staple in every girl's closet. It can be paired with heels and cute little ankle socks…or my favorite, the over-the-knee boot.

Skiing or Apres Skiing?

For Christmas this year I scored a GoPro Hero 3. What more can a thrill-seeker crave?

Every Spring Break growing up I would visit Keystone, Colorado with my family and 7 or 8 other families. This mountain was basically my second home for years, but as we all grew up, we opted for beach vacations and traveling with our college friends.

This year we decided to throw it back and take a trip to Keystone for Christmas. I guess skiing really is like riding a bike, cause after a 5 year gap, I couldn't feel more at home on the mountain. It was the perfect way to spend time with my fam, and for my Dad and I to bond over outrageous GoPro footage (since he had to get one for himself as well).

Christmas was at the end of our holiday, so I only have clips from one day, but that day was very eventful. Skiing, visiting Breck, and taking a sleigh ride to a cowboy dinner….my first GoPro video shows it all! (go easy I'm still learning!)

[Trend] Shoe Staples

I have two shopping addictions: shoes and sunglasses. I'd have to say this was definitely the summer of shoes and I'm not mad one bit.  Four pairs of shoes stole my heart this summer and are must-haves for every 20-something.

Shoe Staples for Fall 2014
Designated Darty Shoes
What proper college student doesn't own a pair of converse for tailgating, concerts, and running to class? This year is definitely the year of white high tops. If you're worried about them getting dirty, don't fret, some bleach and a wash did wonders for mine after the Indy 500. Just be smart - don't go jumping in a mud pit at Lollapalooza like one of my friends - can't help you there.

Sexy Going-Out Heels
After buying booties on booties last year, I thought I was due for a change. Time for something a little sexier that can work with jeans or dresses. The Sam Edelman heels on the top right are one of my newest finds. These heels are sexy and comfy and everything you want in a going out heel. Plus you have the option of weaving the strings up your ankle which will make them look itty bitty and who doesn't want that?

Heels I Won't Bust My Butt In
It took me a long time to jump on the sneaker wedge train. I first saw the Isabela Marant pair on one of my co-workers in London and I just couldn't justify spending that much money on something I didn't think would last. Now that the trend has made its way over the pond, I've finally come to admit that I love them, especially once I found a pair with a price that didn't make me dizzy. They give me the illusion that I'm a little sporty (which is anything but true) and make my legs look like little toothpicks. Plus you're almost guaranteed not to bust your butt at the bars (we all do it) since these have rubber soles and are even comfier than actual running shoes. I know this is a hard one to imagine so here's a couple of my favorite styling inspirations.

Trendy Sandals
Birkenstocks started popping up Spring 2013, but I kept pushing them down my list on things to buy. As much as I wish I bought them before everyone else started to, I'm glad I waited for them to create these silver beauties. The metallic helps the chunky sandal transition from casual into work appropriate some how, and makes me feel like I'm trying a little harder then I actually am. These are the easiest choice out of my closet in the morning. They're comfy, match everything, and have some how been deemed as attractive. I hope this trend never goes away.

[Listen] Goodwill & Hooks N Sling

I am copying the post I did for U lala (the college blogging company I write for) because this music video is just so good! By the way shout out to U lala...there are so many amazing articles for the college ladies and you can hear more from me about the Indiana University campus!

Hopefully by now everyone has listened to "Big Jet Plane" by Angus & Julia Stone because I used to be obsessed a couple months ago. For those of you that haven't? Get with it and click on the link above for a taste. For those of you that have? I have a treat for you that is going to revive your obsession for the song!

Goodwill & Hook N Sling made an amazing remix//music video that will have you reminiscing on summer flings and young love. Plus, the guy isn't to hard on the eyes! I'm pretty sure I've listened to this music video about 6 times just while making this post and I don't plan on stopping....Enjoy! xx

[Trend] Tortoise

When it comes to jewelry or any kind of accessory for that matter, tortoise is where it's at. It is so versatile for black, brown, and navy based outfits! Also, for all those pale peeps out there like myself, the tortoise is less harsh compared to black accessories. Loving tortoise sunnies and jewelry right now. I also have become obsessed with Bauble Bar. This site has amazing accessories for affordable prices so they are always finding themselves onto my wish-list.

[Trend] Gold & Silver

People have always had the mind set that you can only wear one type of jewelry. One must wear a gold ring if wearing a gold necklace, etc. I've always found that rule to be pretty stupid. I wear my same rings everyday as you can see in the "About Me" tab, which mix the two metals. Now, I'm excited that this is actually becoming fashionable! Don't fret about wearing your gold watch with a silver ring. Just be smart while you're doing it. Don't wearing a gold necklace, purse, and earrings and then sport a silver purse. Make sure you're mixing is balanced between the gold and silver and not one particularly dominates.
Bangle: Kate Spade Watch: Michele (also comes in gold & silver mixed!) Bracelets: Stella & Dot
Cross Ring: Nordstrom (similar here, here, here) Fearless Ring: Etsy (lots more words too)
Jacket: Burberry Sweater: J.Crew
Boots: Top Shop

Enjoy! xx

2013 Wanderlust

Traveling is my #1 passion. So I'm making this post to recap 2013 in the trips I took. Inspiration to live Young and Fearless in the 2014. Got to top it.

Chicago, Illinois - January 2013
A group of friends and I traveled to downtown Chicago for a date party. Probably one of the best weekends spent with friends. We had all just met 3 weeks prior and were roaming around Chi-town, took a trolley ride, and spent the night atop the Willis (Sears) Tower for the night. The time of our lives. Young & Fearless is going on a weekend trip with total strangers. (Met all three of my current roommates on this trip) Note to self: be more spontaneous like this is 2014.
Jamaica - March 2013
Got to travel to gorgeous Jamaica for my cousin's wedding during spring break. Was great catching up with family I haven't seen since I was a baby and getting some much needed relaxation. Super windy on the wedding day you can tell from the pics, but I could not imagine a prettier ceremony. Note to self: take the time to connect with family (all mines in Canada or Australia)
England - June/July 2013
These 2 months I worked abroad in London with Vestiaire Collective and also visited Stonehenge, Bath, and Salisbury. I have to say London has officially become my favorite place in the world because of the amazing culture. I think about moving to London every day because I loved the witty banter and the people I got to travel with. I think the a miracle happened when I was there and every party of my life was at 100% (work, relationships, family, travel, fashion, etc.)...except for loosing my phone twice but that's beside the point! I encourage everyone to live in a different country at least once in there life...okay picture time - this was the trip of selfies! Highlights? - Wimbledon, Night Life, but mainly THE PEOPLE. (s/o to my London family) Note to self: Have a more Euro mentality - travel travel travel...fashion travel.
Queueing for Wimbledon (free tickets from strangers)
The Vault
 Salisbury Cathedral
 Roman Baths
Stonehenge
Amsterdam, Netherlands - June 2013
Taking an all-nighter to Amsterdam, 3 friends missing the flight, and spending the night in a VERY sketchy hostel. Everyone has to have one of those trips in their life right? Please say yes. Got to see the Heineken Factory, Anne Frank House, and tick the "Iamsterdam" sign off my bucket list! All along with my London family. Note to self: Go with the flow more (I'm usually a planner)
Munich, Germany - July 2013
Traveled to Munich for a weekend with my dad. Hilarious timing since we ran into the gay pride festival all weekend - made for an eventful time! Visiting the famous Hofbrahaus and had my share of pretzels and beer. Was also lucky enough to visit Dachau the concentration camp which was an important experience that I wish everyone could learn about. Note to self: Look at the bigger picture of your life and ask yourself if the small annoyances will really matter - let things go!

 Dancing at the Hofbrahaus
 Dachau Memorial
Schnitzel
Prague, Czech Republic - July 2013
Traveled to Prague with the mother and also got to meet up with a couple of friends from home who happened to be in town. Was only there for a couple of days but I still got to see the highlights! Booze cruise with the friends (who were staying in the nicest hostel I've ever seen...excuse me where was that in Amsterdam?), Swan Lake, Lennon Wall, fish pedicure (tick off the bucket list), and basically just climbing hills all day! So beautiful. Note to self: climbing a giant hill in 100 degree weather is not our most brilliant idea... THINK AHEAD.

Budapest, Hungary - July 2013
Mom and I got a surprise upgrade when we got to the hotel since the Queen's suit was available...not to shabby I'd say. Budapest is great because the restaurants and the historical places are along the river, so we could just stroll down it all day long, stopping at each site. Got freshly squeezed OJ, dried fruit, played with a hawk, and finally bought some souveniers for my friends after this long escapade. We also visited the hot springs, which was a nice relaxing couple of hours, since I basically had been moving non-stop for the past 2 months...but of course I ended up burning! Note to self: put on sunscreen! ....I say every time...
NYC, New York - November 2013
Visited my sister for Thanksgiving to my favorite place in the US. Highlights: World Trade Center Memorial, Waldorf Astoria, and Once - Broadway play check it out! If I am not living in London after graduation (a girl can dream), I better be in NYC! My sister and I are usually pretty testy with each other, but I think this was the first trip where we didn't bicker and it felt reeeeal good!  Ready to go back next week! Note to self: take a deep breathe before speaking when you're mad...it can go a long way
 Waldorf Astoria for Thanksgiving
 Rockefeller Center
 911 Memorial
Now that dude knows what's up....
Hope some of these pictures help inspire your New Year's bucket list! Always young and fearless.
Enjoy! xx
